Whether your suit is off-the-peg, made-to-measure or fully bespoke, our tailors adjust it to sit the way it should. Our specialty is altering handmade garments (floating canvases, hand-stitched linings, working cuffs) without compromising the original construction.
How a suit alteration works
Bring the garment in for a fitting
Booking is recommended so we can give you our full attention, but you are welcome to call in during opening hours, Monday to Friday, 09:30–17:00. Wear or bring the shirt and shoes you plan to wear with the suit.
A clear, final quote
We assess the garment with you, explain exactly what needs doing and confirm a final quote before any work begins. All prices include VAT, no hidden costs.
The work is done
Standard turnaround is 5–7 days on average. If you need it sooner, express next-day turnaround is available for a 30% surcharge. Mention it at your fitting and we'll confirm availability.
Collect and try on
Try the suit on when you collect it. If something isn't right, bring it back and we'll adjust it at no extra charge. We stand behind every stitch.

How much do suit alterations cost in London?
It depends on the garment and the work involved. As a guide at Savva Tailors: jacket side seams in or out from £66, back seam from £48, jacket shortening £96, sleeves shortened or lengthened from £48, trouser waist in or out £28.80 and tapering £51.60. All prices include VAT, and we confirm a clear, final quote after your fitting before any work begins.
How long do suit alterations take?
Most standard suit alterations take 5–7 days on average. If you need it sooner, express next-day turnaround is available for a 30% surcharge. Mention it at your fitting and we will confirm availability based on our current workload.

Can you let out a suit as well as take it in?
Often, yes. It depends on how much seam allowance the garment carries. We assess this at your fitting and will tell you honestly what is possible before any work begins.

Our workshop is at Shropshire House, 179 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 7NZ, a short walk from Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road stations, and within easy reach of Oxford Circus, Soho and Fitzrovia.
